一、 Teaching aims and demands

1. Students can listen, read, say and spell the words: a station, a library, a supermarket, by train, by taxi, by plane, on foot.

2. Students can listen, say, read the daily expressions: Let’s go by taxi. How do we go there? Shall we go to … by …? Good idea!

3. Students can listen, read, say and write the sentence phrases: Shall we go to …by…? All right/Ok Is this …for…?

Step1:Free talk

1.T: It’s a good day, isn’t it?

S: Yes, it is.

T: Let’s go to ……/ Shall we go to……?

S: All right/Ok/Great!

T: But how?

S: By… (bus).

T: Ok, let’s go.

2. Sing a song “The wheels on the bus”.

Step2: Presentation

1. Listen and guess. (学生听声音复习已学单词bus, bike, train, plane)

2. Teach: taxi, by taxi

3. T: Spring comes. The weather is warm. Going on a trip is a good idea. Because May Day is coming soon. Can you give me some ideas?

S1: Shall we go to Hongmei park/ the zoo/ Suzhou/ Shanghai…?

T: Good idea! Let’s go to Shanghai. But how?

S2: By car/ taxi/ train…

T: All right. Let’s go there by train. So we should go to the train station first.  Teach: station

4. Practice

A: Let’s go to the train station.

B: Great! But how? (New sentence pattern: How do we go there?)

A: Shall we go there by …?

5. Three plans of May Day.

(1) On May 1^st   see a play   go to a theatre

Teach: theatre  Shall we go there on foot?

A: Let’s go to the theatre.

B: Great! How do we go there?

A: Shall we go to the theatre by… /on foot?

B: OK.

(3) On May 2^nd   read books   go to a library

Teach: library
